Poorly Jake

My dog Jake hasn't been very happy latley, first he had an infection on his head which has just about healed and then he had the same thing on his back leg, that now seems to finally have healed and he is left with two bald patches.

He seems extremley happy that he no longer has a lamp shade on his head and he showed his great delight at having it removed by keep stroking his face with his paws and making very grateful noises while doing it. I dont blame him really as he has been wearing it for nearly a month!!

Snowy View

This is the view from my bedroom window this morning. It looks very pretty, and we had swarms of seagulls which i kept trying to feed on my kitchen roof which you can see in the picture but everytime they flew near the roof to pick up the bread some miserable person out the back but of view kept clapping and scaring them off, so i didnt manage to get any pictures of them. Some people can be really miserable, those birds must be so hungry and cold. Not to mention the fearless cat in one of the pictures who was eyeing the birds!

Distressed and moody

Gosh it has been a long time since my last post. Sorry about that , i shall try and update a bit more regularly in 2010 all being well.

I haven't done any cardmaking over christmas, thought I would have a complete break from crafting, but my resolve weakened today and I had to get out my stash. A person can only watch so many episodes of ER (I got series 12 for christmas of which I have watched all episodes and then rushed out to buy and watch series 13, the characters are starting to feel a bit like family now!!!).

The latest additions to my stash are Distress ink pads and I have to say I am well and truly hooked!! These two cards are made using a light house stamp by Rubadubadoo that I bought years ago and have never used. I tried to do a calm weather and a stormy weather version.

They are stamped in Versafine black ink, the door and light coloured with promarkers and everything else i painted by pressing my inkpads onto my craft mat and then using the ink like paint.. The message panels I made by sticking a peel off message onto white card and then rubbing over it with cut n dry foam and distress inks to get the background colour that i wanted and then peeling the peel off off to reveal a nice crisp white message underneath.
Happy New Year to all.

Darkroom Door Trees

This is my first attempt at using alcohol inks and it hasnt turned out to bad. The card is already glittered around the edge, I masked off the glittery edge with a sheet of paper and stamped the group of trees from the Darkroom Door Yuletide 1 stamp set using black Versafine ink. The Large tree is stamped in green Versafine onto white card and cut out and ribbon tied round and knotted.
The red and green background is made with Lettuce and Cardinal red alcohol ink wiped onto gloss card in a wave motion with a bit of felt. I then stamped the trees in Black Stazon. and embossed the shape of the background on my Mandala Reflections Board. I edged the panel with a Sakura gold Pen Touch metallic pen stamped the message and star on the card and then layered everything up on foam pads. Lastly I added a green crystal to the centre of the star.

Creative Card Crew Challenge 32

The challenge on Creative Card Crew this week is Scallops so I used Basic Greys Eskimo Kisses papers and a Stampendous set of stamps to make this booklet card. I used a Woodware Giant punch for the scalloped circles. The pocket at the back would be great for holding gift vouchers or CD's for a gift for someone special.

Darkroom Door Santa

Well I fianally got to have a play with my new stamps while I am off work this week. I just love the father christmas image on this stamp set, he looks so realistic.

The swirl on the side of the card was made with my new Slice machine ( which I got for my birthday on Tuesday!) and the piece I cut out I coloured in with Sakura Superpoints and added the dotty effect with the colour remover pen and stuck it on the inside of the card right behind the aperture.

The dotty green paper is by Bo Bunny

I stamped the Santa image onto cream card and coloured the holly on his hat with superpoints and added a touch of glitterey blue with a stardust pen.

I layered him onto gold and red which I embossed on the new Mandala Reflections Embossing Board by Eazi. I also made the red border on the board also.

I stamped the baubles and the Pine leaves by colouring the stamps with the superpoints and stamping with them and then stamped the message with Versafine Black inkpad.

The crystal flower is from Kars X-mas collection.

All the stamps used are from Yuletide 2 collection by Darkroom Door.
Thank you to every one who sent me birthday cards, they were all fabulous and I will post a couple of pictures on here soon.

A Windy Autumn Day

I had great fun yesterday making these two shaker cards, the two little characters are just so cute and my next plan is to make snowy christmasy cards with them. I coloured the little girl in with water colour pencils, and the little boys with zig brushable pens. The papers were from Bo Bunny haloween range sprayed with a little copper glimmer mist. All the little leaves were punched out and the pumpkin was a peel off sticker.
